Opened in 2011 as a scientific research center for studying the different growth rates and carbon dioxide absorption of oak trees, Lamborghini Park is a naturalistic area open to the public and used for educational purposes. It features a 5-hectare "Oak Forest," where 10,000 oak trees have been planted.
The park, created by Automobili Lamborghini in collaboration with the Municipality of Sant'Agata, features a trail that allows visitors to visit an arboretum with typical lowland species, a shrub grove, a marshy and lakeside wetland, a hygrophilous grove, a mesophilous grove, a reconstruction of a lowland forest, a hedge, and a tree line. A collection of so-called "ancient fruit" plants, fruit trees forgotten by intensive production, has also recently been added.
The trail then passes through the scientific project area, with the thousands of young oak trees that form its heart. The area is currently particularly suited to activities aimed at identifying terrestrial, marshy, and aquatic plants: a sort of mini "botanical garden" awaiting the growth of the actual oak forest.
In spring, the ponds are inhabited by thousands of green toad tadpoles, which have found refuge in the area, as well as the edible frog and some newts. The recreated aquatic environment is particularly rich in animal and plant species, offering a wealth of biodiversity.
The area is open during guided tours organized as part of the "Natura di Pianura" project.
